The first ever national championships of the new Beneteau First 31.7 Association of Ireland were basked in glorious sunshine for their first day. A steady breeze and small swell gave perfect conditions for racing on the windward-leeward course set in the shadow of Howth Head. Conditions weren't quite so ideal as day 2 dawned, but slowly the breeze grew and the mist cleared allowing two more close and competitive races just outside Dun Laoghaire harbour.
