Etchells Worlds Championships 2010

A number of small high performance keelboat classes have become established in Ireland over the years, and the Etchells are probably the least successful of these despite attracting a very high calibre of sailor to the fleet. They do, however, have a dedicated following in Howth Yacht Club, and this is not the first major Championships the class have held at the club. The weather in late August can be particularly fickle, and after a very benign practise race day the competition week turned out to be one of big winds and unforgiving squals to really test the assembled crews.
