Waterford played host to the start of this fantastic event which is
part race, part cruise in company. Up to 90 of the worlds most impressive square-riggers and sail-training vessels from 21 countries took part, including Ireland's own Asgard II, the largest wooden sailing ship in the world 'Tenacious' from Southampton, and the Russian ships Kruzenshtern and Mir which are both over 100 metres in length. One of our photographers was on hand in Waterford, and will then sailed with the Jubilee Sailing Trust on Tenacious, part of the mixed crew that finished second in class and second overall in the first leg!
