SODA Long Distance Race 2007
Passage races and high-milage courses may be undergoing a rebirth offshore just now, but the inland waterways have a fine unbroken tradition of long-distance racing and 2007 marked the 40th hosting of the Shannon One Design race between Lough Ree and Lough Derg. Like all SODA events serious racing was combined with a serious social gathering, but with the race sailed in very blustery Southerly winds everyone certainly earnt their refreshments!
