Saturday

The final day of the competition looked set to heap more insult onto injury as yet again the winds predicted the previous evening stubbornly refused to materialise on time. Add to this a persistent, penetrating drizzle and the mood in the marquee was decidedly somber. As the morning progressed though it suddenly appeared that the wind was merely waiting for the perfect state of the tide as it swung south just at the moment the sandbar began to dry out. The true potential of the site was ampley demonstrated in one fifteen minute window, but sadly as the rain cleared the wind shiften north again and eased so only allowing a lucky few post prize-winning runs.
