Monday

Day one of the annual regatta proved to be a day of mixed fortunes and mixed weather, but thankfully stayed relatively dry after a heavy early morning shower threatened to be an ominous start. The breeze was steady and warm, and just strong enough to get all the fleets moving well without being too strenuous, with everyone getting good races either side of lunch - the Shannon One Designs and Laser Radials out in the middle of the lake while the Junior Fleets sailed in the bay immediately in front of the club. The junenille race was held after tea, where the helming of Shannon One Designs are given over to sailors under the age of 16, and the low evening sun along with a stiff breezemade for great conditions as the young up and coming talent in the fleet fought it out around the bay.
