SF Marina Ireland Squib Nationals 2010

The biggest event of the squib calendar ever year is the UK Nationals, a defacto world championships for this unasuming class given their concentration of numbers in Britain, and drawing the event across to Irish waters was a rare coup given that the Dun Laoghaire fleet is only relatively young compared to those in Howth, Kinsale and the North of Ireland. The distinctive orange sails have quickly become a familiar feature of DBSC racing though, and to see a fleet of seventy taking to the bay under glorious sunshine was truely an impressive sight. While the first day may have been benign the forecast promises many testing conditions over the coming week.

More details about the event can be found at the official website.
