The Ruffian National Championships is the premier event in the Ruffian Calendar, and is hosted annually in Dublin Bay. The event is held over 3 days with up to 7 races in which the fleet competes for The Brooks Thomas Trophy and title of National Ruffian Champion. This year over 20 boats turned out from Dublin Bay, Skerries, Carrickfergus, Wicklow and further afield despite the horrific weather. Despite a weekend of winds in excess of 20knts (and touching 30knt gusts at times) the class still managed to get in a great range of racing over three challenging days.
