Monday

It may have been the longest day of the year, but all that brought to the Squib fleet was a long wait which was ultimately to no avail. The onshore breeze that built from a still and clear dawn brought with it a heavy fog, so thick indeed that it was impossible to see the end of the ferry terminal from the club at times, and although this cleared back as far as the mouth of the harbour by lunchtime it resolutely refused the disperse from the race area so at 13:20 the decision was taken to abandone for the day.
